In the medina of Marrakech, at Derb Anboub 12 — a quiet derb 10 minutes on foot from Jemaa el-Fna square. Behind a plain door, like every true house of the medina.
We strongly recommend our airport transfer service to our visitors, in order to take you directly and in peace to the door of our Riad. Our driver will welcome you at the exit of the airport with a sign "Riad Atay". He will drive you directly in a private, air-conditioned van to the gates of the Medina. A "carossa" will take care of your luggage to the Riad for your comfort.
-
Cars cannot enter the narrow streets of the medina. Taxis stop at 8 minutes by feet from the house. Tell us when you arrive: someone from the team meets you there and carries your bags to the door.
-
Yes. Our driver waits at arrivals with a "Riad Atay" sign and brings you into the medina in a private, air-conditioned van — then a porter walks you the last steps.
-

Five — two double rooms on the patio level and three suites upstairs. Each has its own bathroom in hand-worked tadelakt, air conditioning and heating.
-
Yes — and it is the way Riad Atay is at its best. Five rooms, 10 perons, one key: Families of friends, small retreats. Write to us for exclusive-hire rates. Combined with our first house, Riad Dar-K, a few streets away, the two maisons host up to 21 guests.
-
Yes, Riad Atay welcomes guests aged 16 and above. It keeps the house what our guests come for: quiet. Families with younger children: ask us about booking the house exclusively — the rule is yours to set then.
-
This is the question we love. The medina is alive — that is its point — but a riad is built inward: thick walls, rooms around a patio, no windows on the street. The quiet inside surprises almost everyone who has just crossed the souks to reach us.
-
Yes, no matter if you book one room for a few nights or privatize the entire Riad, there is always serbvice at Riad Atay, with housekeeper and cook during the day, and a guardian during the nights.
-
Yes, with every night. It is served on the rooftop or in the Salon, from 8am to 11am, made fresh each morning. In case you are leaving early or just an early bird, we would ensure you some coffee into your room, not to make any noise for the other guests before 8am.
-
Yes, on request — our cook prepares Moroccan and Mediterranean dishes from whatever the markets offered that morning. Tell us what you love, and it's yours. Vegan, gluten-free, allergies: all handled, gladly. Order before 11 am for dinner the same day / 24h notice.
-
No — the medina is a traditional quarter, and alcohol is not served in unlicensed houses. We hold to that, out of respect for the neighbourhood that hosts us. In return: fresh juices, the best mint tea in the derb, and our list of licensed restaurants and rooftops nearby for your evenings out.
-
Please note that we apply a fixed exchange rate of 1 euro = 10.5 dirhams.
We accept payments by credit card (Visa and Mastercard only) or in cash. Due to the high level of banking commission in Morocco, we offer a 5% discount on the room rate for payments made in cash (in dirhams or euros).
Tourist taxes, consumptions, transfers, transportation, and any other extras must be paid exclusively in dirhams and in cash upon checkout.
-
Yes, free and throughout the house — patio and rooftop included.

Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the gentle seasons. Summer is hot — that is what the plunge pool and the thick walls are for. Winter days are bright and mild, evenings are cool — that is what the fireplaces are for. The house has no bad season, only different ones.
-
It is one of our favourite parts of the job. Souks and craftsmen we trust, restaurants we actually eat in, a day in the Agafay desert or the Atlas valleys, hammams, gardens, drivers. Ask us anythingn during your stay.

Honestly: come and see. On paper — a full renovation in 2023, five rooms, beldi craftsmanship and hand-worked tadelakt, a plunge pool in a green patio, a rooftop over the medina, and the second house of a couple who first came to Marrakech twenty years ago and never quite managed to leave.
